Interesting to see this face of Gilad - and Aram - behind them. With Eternal Warrior never REALLY having an origin issue - and Aram's origin revealed only as a duo... Even though most would probably read this beyond the TRUE parts of the Valiant Universe... It isn't a bad story to read, really. Certainly more revelations - of little consequence - will arise. But this was an interesting adventure into the past of these characters. Also interesting to see acknowledgements in the letters page of the constantly changing art, as well as the MORE info on changes yet to come.
Back together again
This issue tends to sort out a few things. But it's the appearance of so many villains that will fade away into the oblivion that really makes the comic so forgettable. And I do love the dated references to the ol Cobalt Bombs. Comics need to have some sort of real connection to life - and this one doesn't. Battling these underground creatures with flaming cobalt won't connect with anyone - and that's why this era of comics really isn't flapped around too much. Those iconic early issues - and a few notable covers - are worth the read, but don't bother with one like this. I guess I'm glad to see Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch - however fleetingly - but please get back to fighting super villains.
