The story is a much better one. Well, perhaps not MUCH, but I did find myself looking beyond the last few. The story feels pretty modern. It has more than the essence of excellence. The story, the recreation of a religious icon, is even pretty edgy. Could have crossed a line or two here, and really bitten off more than it could chew. I think it stayed behind the line, and even put together an interesting line. It is by no means my favorite story - but it is much further into the tolerable line. Of course, very few of these characters will be really recollected a few months from now, but I like the fact that a Westerner is developing a way to infiltrate a country. Plus, it brings back the last Geomancer, Clay McHenry. An interesting character. And, I didn't even really need to dig to put together this entry.
Oh, Avengers. What have you become?
I liked much of the improvements. Now it's only rather painful to read the story. The flip of the Scarlet Witch - that she was an android in disguise... Sadly one of the best parts of the issue. Didn't really see it, but if THAT's the most interesting section... Yikes. The art of the impersonator is a bit interesting. Just a slight change makes the art seem new. But battling the Ultroids? The super more amazing ANDROIDS? Be happy this cover is small. Expanded in size, it is really bad.
