I get the feeling that this last issue was trying to be the anti-Magnus. None of that Survivor-esque retrospective. Instead, tell a story. But with wolves? Instead, take a step back. Slow down. SHOW ME AND MAKE ME MISS it. Give me a talk with the two. Bringing Clay back was a brilliant idea. I LIKE the guy. But I wanted to see them interact with one another. Don't have them fight whatever stupid created villains. Finally, please don't leave me with a panel that should be part of some over-invested alcohol ad. I don't need that picture in me. Ever.
The guard changes again.
Something pretty amazing about this group. Its willingness to changes - and overhauls throughout its history. All the way back to issue 2, right? Some of these months have been a mess, but this comic really feels fresh again. It isn't the best thing I have ever seen - and I am reminded of a comment from a VF member talking about how all the comics seem to be about getting in fights, and then realizing that they shouldn't really get into fights. This one brings in the Enchantress, and Hercules's exile to earth. Pretty great way to bring IN Herc, and get RID of Black Widow - and all within the quick span of a few pages - neatly wrapped up by the end. Well, I guess not so neatly when you consider the fact that Cap still has to give his approval. But a great read. Feels new again.
