Nice book. This is one of the few that has been relatively strong throughout most of its run. Funny. I wouldn't have felt that years ago. The story continues the Ripper line, and the son stalking girlfriends in the main line - without Gil around much at all. That may be one of his strengths. Of course, we know Gil is okay - we see him on the cover - but the telling of the story from other perspectives was an excellent turn in the story. Loved the action - and even the Image-like appearance of the time - with the tilting and turning of panels - did not at all bother me. The story was good - and didn't feel too decompressed, either. Excellent.
Goliath returns
Goliath returns in this issue to really get the book going. It seems to leave behind some of the inadequacies of the four member team by bringing back Goliath and Wasp. Of course, I have always loved the old Swordsman, too. The Power Man seems a dope - I am not sure if I've just been so used to the newer version, but... He seems like a character that doesn't employ his full abilities, and the character seems lost here. But the problem that Goliath faces - not being able to shrink down - is a great one for a fault. But he does react a little too pessimistically for my taste. Nearly seems like he's pouting like a little girl.
Again, tough.
But this time it's much easier to lean toward Gilad.
